custom boards definitions from hardware folder in sketches folder are not handled correctly.

• The Boards Manager shows them as boards package an offers INSTALL.
• the custom boards can't be selected in Select Board

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
As an example of custom hardware definitions you can download my_boards. The repository also contains README with informations and links about Arduino custom board definitions.

Thanks @JAndrassy! It looks like the specific issues you reported here were fixed some time ago but the developers forgot to close this. So I'll close it now.

If anyone is still having either of these specific issues, please comment here with the details and I'll investigate.

Please note that there are still other serious problems with the support for sketchbook installed Arduino boards platforms, which are being tracked at #565

I wasn't able to reproduce this with the oldest version of the IDE I have installed: 2.0.0-beta.3, so I'm assuming that it was fixed at some point before then.

• the custom boards can't be selected in Select Board

I can reproduce this with 2.0.0-beta.3, but not with 2.0.0-beta.4, so it must have been fixed by one of the changes between those releases. The boards of sketchbook installed platforms are now correctly offered in the "Select Other Board & Port" menu and in the Tools > Board menu.
