As reported in the title, the member 'mode' is missing in the library

The wrong WiFi library is being compiled. It is not using the one in the tree you are bringing above

So what's the correct library? Why keeping the wrong one in the tree?

If you are using platformio don't list it in the initial file and clean the project temp directories. It should just work.

@Brunez3BD I would recommend moving this issue over to https://github.com/platformio/platform-espressif32. This is not a bug in the library or in arduino-esp32. It is a bug in the LDF component of PlatformIO picking the wrong library, it is picking a generic library and not the built-in one from arduino-esp32

As atanisoft explained above, this is not an issue belonging in the arduino-esp32 issue tracker and was thus moved to platformio, where the issue can be further discussed.

If you feel this is still a bug in Arduino-ESP32, please reopen the issue and explain your reasoning.

I'm getting this error from a fresh install of arduino nightly and esp32-arduino. Reason is I just selected the wrong board.

I don't understand.. Where can I get proper WiFi class? Boards manager and git version both doesn't have .mode member. Is only way to start using Platformio to get this work?

The problem people might be having is that they are trying to compile the esp32 version while having the board set to esp8266, etc. So, make sure the correct board is selected.
