sorting issue in magento 2 specially for bundle products

Preconditions and environment

• Magento version 2.4.8
• When I tried to sort the product listing page with the product attribute of integer type, it's not showing the results as per the expectations

Steps to reproduce

Create a product attribute of integer type, assign the values in it, for example, 1, 2,3, and so on for different products
Navigate to store > configuration>catalog>catalog>Product Listing Sort by and add the bestseller (created in product attribute ) as the default setting

Open the frontend specially for the bundle product. it seems that the sort order is not in ascending/descending order; it seems to be a mixed type

Expected result

When the category page is being loaded for the first time, the product that appears should be sorted with the sort order described

Actual result

Currently, I am not able to sort the order by ascending or descending on the fresh load

We attempted to reproduce the issue on the latest 2.4-develop instance, following the steps provided. However, we were unable to reproduce the issue. For reference, we've attached a screenshot showing the expected behavior.

Steps to reproduce

• Created a product attribute of type Integer (e.g.,testing) and assigned values like 1, 2, 3, etc., across different products.
• Navigated to:
• Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog > Product Listing Sort By, and set the custom attribute (testing) as the default sort option.
• Opened the category page on the frontend — specifically one containing bundle products.

The product listing sorted as expected. The issue could not be reproduced on our end.

If there are additional steps or specific conditions we may have missed, kindly let us know so we can review further.

For now, we are marking this ticket as "Needs Update."

While testing with multiple bundle products, we get the issue 10-15 bundle products assign the simple products, and when checked, it generates the issue

We attempted to replicate the reported issue in the 2.4-develop environment but were unable to reproduce it. Please find the attached screenshots for reference.

Steps to reproduce

• Created a product attribute of type Integer (e.g.,testing) and assigned values like 1, 2, 3, etc., across different products.
• Navigated to:
• Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog > Product Listing Sort By, and set the custom attribute (testing) as the default sort option.
• Opened the category page on the frontend — specifically one containing bundle products.
• The product listing sorted as expected. The issue could not be reproduced on our end.

Note: We created multiple bundle products and added additional simple products, as shown in the attached screenshots.
