perf improvements since 0.13.0?

I just ran ./test_perf.sh -b v0.13.0 -t HEAD -r '.*query.*' and this is what I got:

FWIW datetime indexes are evaluated in Python land

I think that has to do with the date caching being fixed. maybe see what was wrong in 0.13

hmm...in 0.13.1 query calls is_unique on the index (which takes all the time); in 0.14.0 it doesn't.
